Evetts Cemetery
Marcella, Stone County, AR

Evetts Cemetery is a small country cemetery located about a mile and a half south of Marcella, AR on Highway 14. It sits amid the forks of Wallace Creek about a mile off the White River.   As you sweep around a wide bend in the road, the cemetery is off to the left in the back of a pasture.  Just as the road straightens out (heading to Batesville) look for a farm road to the right.  Thats your key to look for  a small farm gate on the left in a pasture fence. Open the gate and thread your way back through the pasture towards the left and you will see the cemetery almost immediately (It's a BEAR to see from the highway driving south  becasue you have to look back OVER your shoulder!)  Here is a photo taken from the hiway, giving you an idea of what the entry looks like.  The cemetery is off and to the left.

The cemetery has a fence around it.. its well trimmed.. and most of the graves are in fair to good condition.  Some stones do definitely show signs of their age,  and a few are now flat on the ground rather than standing. This is a partial list of the "residents", whose stones I took pictures of on a recent visit.
